SPI Partners in an Alaskan broadband satellite program

Space Partnership International (SPI) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnership with Microcom to establish Pacific Dataport, Inc. (PDI).  SPI’s investment is based on Microcom’s strong history and knowledge of satellite communications in rural Alaska as the leading distributor of satellite systems and services throughout the State.  PDI will procure and operate the Aurora IV High Throughput Satellite system designed to bridge the digital divide and provide fast affordable broadband services to Alaska and the surrounding ocean regions.

SPI is leading the satellite system engineering effort, including, the design, the procurement of the satellite and launch services.  In addition, SPI is leading the regulatory and risk management efforts.

PDI is a Delaware Corporation established in 2017, and headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska (www.pacificdataport.com).
