Space Partnership International (SPI) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnership with Microcom to establish Pacific Dataport, Inc. (PDI). SPI’s investment is based on Microcom’s strong history and knowledge of satellite communications in rural Alaska as the leading distributor of satellite services throughout the State. PDI will procure and operate the Aurora IV High Throughput Satellite system designed to bridge the digital divide and provide fast affordable broadband services to Alaska and the surrounding ocean regions.
SPI is leading the space segment engineering and program management efforts, including, the design, the procurement of the satellite and launch services. Part of the SPI scope includes the regulatory, RF Spectrum Acquisition and Risk Management for the overall project.
